Layered patterns… too difficult or risky? It may seem that way, but you can do it! Layering patterns definitely gives a room a more whimsical, playful style. While there’s always successful exceptions, if you are new to layering pattern, we recommend that layered patterns have a unifying theme (e.g., all florals, all chevrons), a common color, or a shared motif. And generally, while layering is great with contrasting or complementary colors, when the color palette of each print has a similar saturation level, the prints tend to work better together. So get creative and unique – even a bit “out there”! It’s fun!
